The Bastet is an extraordinarily sleek and elegant piece of furniture. The essence other design is in the form which is inspired from the stance of a panther. She positions herself as a silent apex predator that is opportunistic, alert and dangerously ready for the kill. The front legs of the chair exude strength and vigor with the paws gripping the floor and the slouching heads acting as perfect hand rests. The remaining body morphs aerodynamically into hand rails which finish as the rear of the animal as well as the chair. It chooses a subtle and humble demeanor. This abstract form is a simple play of lines to generate a silhouette of the real cat. It resembles more than it directly represents.
